Finding Jesus in a Break-Up

Before I get started, I want to give an example of how funny God is. I’m going through a very hard break up and the bible verse of the day on my bible app which I wake up to every morning is Galatians 5:1 ” It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” Yes, I’m aware that it is referencing something entierly different but when you wake up the morning after a break up to that verse, its kind of ironic.

Here is a photo of what happy me looks like, what me in love looks like. Obviously, I covered the other persons face for security reasons, but this was Easter, and I was so happy then. But currently, I’m very upset, that’s why I thought I would dive into another blog post about following Jesus. Heartbreak and Jesus, those two things don’t typically go together because Jesus is a healer.
When you are in an ungodly relationship, heartbreak is easy because you aren’t doing things according to God’s plan, you are doing things for your own gain. Where is Jesus when you walk away from an ungodly relationship? He’s waiting in the shadows for you to reach out and ask for him. Yes, I may be heartbroken at the moment, but having Jesus will heal that. Jesus picks you up when you are broken, He is the light at the end of the tunnel. You already know that don’t you?
How can I reach out to Jesus instead of waiting for him? Prayer, worship, mentorship. I’ve been praying every time I get upset or start crying again, and Jesus listens to my sorrow. I’ve been playing worship music any time I can just so I can constantly be surrounded by music that makes my heart happy. Lastly, regardless of going through heartbreak or not, I think everyone should have a mentor or two. Find someone who maybe is older than you to help guide you in your faith and in your life, those people for me have been helping me through this hard time. But they aren’t just there for the hard times, they are there for the good times as well.
I know this was not the most in-depth post, its was more for me if Im being honest. Has anyone else gone through this before? What were your tips and tricks? Anyone have some good Bible verses for a time like this?
