There is a common theme that people find Jesus when times are hard, but people often forget that Jesus is there even when times are good. Please do not think to yourself: “Oh that’s never been me” because it has been all of us. At some point or another, we all have strayed from Jesus when things are going well in our lives. We forget to just pray when we don’t need something, or when we are genuinely happy because we think of Jesus as a healer.
It is very true that Jesus is a healer and will be there for you in a time of need but just like most people who love you, he wants to be a part of your life when things are going well too. I will be the first to admit that I am guilty of this. Recently my life has been going well, and I’ve been very happy so I see myself drifting from Jesus. This is Satan working in my life, the same way he tries to work in yours. He invades your mind and heart and he tries to make you forget that it was Jesus who helped you get to this place.
It’s not to say that because of Jesus we will never have struggles in life because that is far from the truth, but a true relationship with Jesus exists both in the good and the bad. So remember to maintain your relationship with him through everything, not just when you need a little extra guidance or support. Even when you are happiest, let Him be a part of that time of your life. Anyone who loves you, including Jesus, wants to be there for you at all times because life is a journey full of ups and downs and He is there for ALL of it.
